The dashboard at /dashboard is the admin area for pages, media and settings. Editors and administrators sign in with their user account. Readers have no access to the dashboard.
Page Tree
The sidebar lists all pages as a tree, with Virtual System Pages, Snippets and the Trash in collapsible groups below. Select a page to see its details (author, creation and modification date, description, translations, backlinks) and the available actions. The sidebar width can be changed by dragging its edge.
- Add Sub-Page: Creates a new page below the selected one.
- Edit Page: Opens the page in the editor.
- Page Settings: Opens the settings of the page, see Page Settings.
- Duplicate Page: Creates a copy of the page under a new title.
- Delete Page: Moves the page to the trash.
- Open Live Page: Shows the published page.
- Move Up / Move Down: Changes the order of the page among its siblings.
Folder Name and Redirect
URL / Folder Name renames the folder of the page. This changes its URL, so existing links to the page may break. The Redirect Link card sends visitors of a page to another URL or path as soon as the redirect is enabled.
Backlinks
The Backlinks card lists all pages that link to the selected page. Before a page with backlinks is deleted, the dashboard shows which pages would end up with broken links. The index is stored in cache/backlinks.json. It can be switched off and rebuilt under Global Settings > General > Backlinks.
Trash
Deleted pages are moved to pages/_trash/ together with their sub-pages. In the Trash view they can be restored or deleted permanently, or the whole trash can be emptied. If the original path is taken in the meantime, a restored page gets a new folder name.
Snippets and Virtual Pages
Snippets are created with Add Snippet and edited like pages. Insert them with the Snippet block. Virtual System Pages (sidebars, footer and 404 page) are edited the same way, see Virtual Pages.
Media Manager
The Media manager shows global files and the files of single pages. Files are uploaded by drag and drop (up to 10 MB, allowed extensions are set under Global Settings > General).
- WebP conversion: Uploaded images are converted to WebP automatically when the server supports it. Existing images can be converted under Global Settings > Status.
- Resize/Crop: Edits an image in place. Restore Original brings back the uploaded version.
- Rename: Renames a file including its converted versions.
- Copy Path / Copy Public Link: Copies the path or URL of a file.
Start View and Profile
Without a selected page, the dashboard shows the Recently Modified Pages with quick actions. Comments are moderated in the comments panel. The profile menu in the header changes the password and sets the dashboard language and theme for the current user.
