The Global Settings at /dashboard/settings are available to administrators. Each tab is described below. Changes are applied with Save Settings.
General
- Wiki name, logo and favicon: Available in themes as
{{ wiki_name }},{{ wiki_logo }}and{{ wiki_favicon }}. Without a favicon, the PureWiki favicon is used. - Dashboard language and theme: Defaults for the dashboard. Every user can override them in the profile menu.
- Allowed file extensions: File types accepted by the media manager.
- Multilingual support: See Multilingual (i18n).
- Comments: See Comments.
- Caching: Stores rendered pages as static HTML for visitors. The cache lifetime can be set, and Clear Cache empties the cache immediately.
- Backlinks: Enables the backlink index and rebuilds it on demand.
- Page History: Enables versions on publish and sets how many are kept per page.
- Search: Maximum number of results of the frontend search.
- Links & Navigation: Opens external links in a new tab, shows the start page in breadcrumbs, and enables the in-page admin menu with quick actions for logged-in users.
Appearance
- Current Theme: Selects the frontend theme. The default theme is
default, the previous PicoCSS-based theme is still available asdefault_picocss. - Theme Colors: Adjusts the colors the theme offers, separately for light and dark mode. The default theme provides primary color, background and text. The reset button restores the default of a color. If you switch the theme, save and reload the page before editing the colors of the new theme.
- Custom Code: Injects CSS, HTML and JavaScript into the head or footer of every page without editing the theme.
How a theme declares its colors is described in Theme Development.
SEO
Controls indexing (noindex), the XML sitemap, the fallback description and the page title format ({{ page_title }} - {{ wiki_name }} by default). It also generates canonical URLs, Open Graph and Twitter Card tags and Schema.org data. The sitemap is enabled by default.
Editor
Controls which blocks appear in the block menu of the editor (Raw HTML, Markdown, Live Markdown, Code, Table, Page List, Table of Contents, Callout, Layout Block, Page Include, Snippet, Accordion, Grid, Math and Icon). Hidden blocks that are already used on pages are still rendered.
User Management

| Role | Permissions |
|---|---|
| admin | Full access. Manages users, settings, mail, backups, the trash, updates and extensions. |
| editor | Creates, edits, moves, duplicates and deletes pages. Manages media, publishes drafts and uses the version history. |
| reader | Reads published pages and uses the search. No access to the dashboard. |
After repeated failed logins, the IP address and the username are locked out for 15 minutes (5 failed attempts by default).

Creates a full backup of pages, media and configuration as a ZIP file. Existing backups can be downloaded and deleted. The files are stored in /backups.
Status and Updates
Shows the wiki and PHP version, the server operating system, disk usage, WebP support and the conversion state of images. Check for Updates looks for a new release on GitHub, shows the release notes and installs the update. A backup is created automatically before every update. Pre-releases are only offered if Include Pre-Release Updates is enabled.
Activity Log
Logs actions such as page changes, media uploads, comments, logins and settings changes with user and time. It is disabled by default, can be filtered and searched, and can be cleared.

Extensions
Lists installed extensions from /extensions. They can be enabled, disabled and uninstalled here, see Extension Development.
Dev Options
Enables debug output in the browser console and in toasts. The built-in debug log viewer shows, refreshes and clears the log.
