The Video block embeds YouTube and Vimeo videos or video files from the media library. No Raw HTML is needed.
Privacy:
YouTube and Vimeo videos show a placeholder first. The player only loads after the visitor clicks the play button, so no data goes to the provider before that. YouTube videos use the youtube-nocookie.com domain and Vimeo videos use the do-not-track option.
Supported sources
- YouTube: Links like
youtube.com/watch?v=…,youtu.be/…andyoutube.com/shorts/…. - Vimeo: Links like
vimeo.com/123456, including unlisted videos with their hash. - Video files: mp4, webm, mov and ogv files from the media library, selected or uploaded with Select Video File. The maximum file size depends on the server, see the upload limit on the status page in the settings.
Options
- Aspect Ratio: 16:9, 4:3, 1:1 or 9:16 for vertical videos like YouTube Shorts.
- Start: The second the video starts at. A
t=parameter in the pasted link fills it in automatically. - Autoplay, Loop, Muted: Only for video files. Autoplay always mutes the video, since browsers block autoplay with sound.
- Hide Controls: Only for video files with Loop. Hides the player controls and turns on Autoplay, so the clip plays silently in a loop like a GIF.
How to use
Type /video to insert the block. Paste a link and click Embed, or pick a file with Select Video File. The block can be hidden from the block menu in the editor settings.
